Electro Swing News 18
By LadyDot – March 2024
It’s been a month full of lots of musical surprises and intense work here at our label – Electro Swing Thing Records. We are not the only ones working a lot on new projects – the artists are not idle and are really very busy, as they are preparing a whole lot of releases for us. New singles, lots of new albums, new tour dates… I know I’m repeating myself, but I expect 2024 will really be a very groundbreaking year musically – also for many Electro Swing artists. I have another batch of news and a list of new releases for you. I will also mention articles that I think you will enjoy reading.
Quick Electro Swing News
- As I already mentioned, on 21 February I went to Parov Stelar‘s concert in Poland, at the Stodoła club in Warsaw. It was a totally unforgettable experience, so if you are still thinking about buying tickets for the Theater Tour 2024, I wholeheartedly encourage you to do so, because the choice of songs for the setlist, the energy of the whole band and the playing of live instruments made a huge impression on me – even though it was not the first Parov Stelar concert I had attended. You can read my report of the gig HERE.
- Caravan Palace have published more new tour dates! So if you don’t have time to plan your trip to France, Belgium or the UK, know that nothing is lost yet, because in October Caravan Palace will also play shows in Germany (Hamburg, Berlin, Munich, Cologne), the Netherlands (Amsterdam), Belgium (Liège), the UK (Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol, Nottingham, London, Brighton) and a concert in France (Paris) in January 2025. I plan to go to their show on the 2nd of April in Brussels. How about you? 😊
- That’s not all, as Postmodern Jukebox have also released a whole host of dates for their European tour. From April to June they have more than 40 concerts planned, wow!
- Deladap are celebrating 20 years of their career! This is a really impressive anniversary, and I wholeheartedly wish the whole band a lot of success, lots of energy and inspiration to create new songs.
- I will write you more about this in the next article in the Electro Swing News series, but for now I would like to inform you that two fantastic albums were released on the 1st of March and I strongly encourage you to stream them:
– Caravan Palace – ‘Gangbusters Melody Club’ – I can’t stop listening to ‘Mirrors’, ‘Raccoons’, ‘Portobello’ and ‘City Cook’!
– Odd Chap – “Collaborations” – oh, my heart was totally stolen by the track ‘Follow Me‘, which Odd Chap created with J Fitz. I also really like the Emma Lea collaboration ‘Fire’, ‘Take a Chance’ with Sarah Myers…. Well, all the songs are really cool!

Electro Swing Album Releases – February 2024
Not only singles, but also fantastic albums were released in February. I’m absolutely delighted with them! Without further ado, I encourage you to give them a listen!
- Elle & The Pocket Belles – “What’s a Girl to Do…” – February 16th – oh, I’ve been really looking forward to this, as the singles heralding the release of this album were incredibly melodic, danceable and, above all, perfectly sung! These five female vocals will drive you into a real musical frenzy, I swear! My favourite songs: “See You Later”, “Dancing with the Devil”, “Midnight Dancer”.
- “Whisper Darkly” – February 23rd – I’ve mentioned this album to you before, which is also the soundtrack to the world’s first Electro Swing musical. By the way, I interviewed Andrew Gerle, the Salisbury DJ and PiSK who produced the tracks – you can read it HERE. My favourite tracks: “We Make the Night”, “Who’s Evie Now?”, “Too Much Fun Fun”.
- Bart & Baker – Electro Swing Classics – “The Swing Phenomenon” – February 9th – This time you have the chance to listen to different versions of the song “The Swing Phenomenon”, which Bart & Baker recorded in collaboration with Nicolle Rochelle. LMZG have prepared a Rework of this song, and you can also listen to remixes by DJ Mibor, Kex and Pep’s Show Boys & Martin Dee. Each of these versions is original and definitely worth a listen!
I wish you fantastic musical adventures and discoveries. And remember, we will publish the next article in the Electro Swing News series next month!
