Juan Villafane

Swing Dancer. World traveler. Lindy Hop teacher. Story teller. Vintage fashion enthusiast. Music lover. Jazz Music and Dance Producer. Juan Villafañe has been a leader in the development of Swing dance in Buenos Aires for more than a decade, working tirelessly for the growth of Lindy Hop and Authentic Jazz in South America. Today he spends most of his time traveling the world with his dance partner, Sharon Davis, giving seminars and performing in different shows of the genre.

Strongly influenced by his past as Professor of Physical Education, Gymnast and Martial Artist, he has a unique perspective in what refers to the organic movement and body awareness, giving him a very personal and distinctive style. Famous for his acrobatic movements and his mastery of the “slides”, Juan is an accomplished artist, a creative dancer and an experienced teacher.

Juan has participated in various international competitions, sometimes as a dancer, sometimes as a jury. In many of them, getting the first position in different categories. Some of them are International Lindy Hop Championships, National Jitterbug Championships, Canadian Swing Championships, European Swing Dance Championships and Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown. As an artist, he has performed in stages in Sweden, Italy, Germany, Ireland, Spain, France, Korea, Czech Republic, England, Canada, USA and Argentina. With her dance partner, Sharon Davis was part of the famous Swing dance company, The Harlem Hot Shots and taught seminars at the most prestigious Swing dance festivals in the world.
