Biography – Mr. Jazzek
Mr. Jazzek (born Jacek Janaszkiewicz) is a Polish Electro Swing/Swing House Producer and DJ.
His career took off in the 1990s when he started playing Funk, Soul and House at several private parties before he eventually became a resident of the iconic “Quo Vadis” club in his hometown, Szcecin.
Mr. Jazzek is involved in various, collaborative projects such as his “Jazzowski” duo, consisting of him and pianist Krzysztof Baranowski. In 2015 the two paid homage to Polish alternative rock veterans “Mr. Zoob” by remixing their 1986 classic “Mój jest ten kawałek podłogi”. The remix became the year’s summer hit and was put on heavy rotation by radio stations all over Poland.
Mr. Jazzek’s 2021 Electro Swing club anthem “Chicago” reached number one on Radio PLK/ Dublin and was highly requested on “Polish Radio London” for weeks.
Undeniably a part of the Electro Swing/ Swing House elite and a precursor of the genre in his home country, his songs can be found on numerous compilations, as well as Spotify’s “Electro Swing”-editorial playlist!
